DNC, MSM Smear Mitt with Deceptive Edit

DNC, MSM Smear Mitt with Deceptive Edit: "The fact that Journolist founder Klein was so willing to accept the selectively edited video from the DNC is proof positive that he is not acting as a journalist at the Washington Post, but as an advocate and mouth piece for his party. We know that Klein is the darling of the left and has a permanent spot on air at MSNBC, but isn't it time WaPo editors start reigning him in a bit? If he can attack Romney with a deceptively edited video churned out by party hacks and not have to pay a price, then the Post is enabling and endorsing practices that are designed to deceive their readers instead of enlightening them."

Boy Burned in Racial Attack (But he doesn’t look like Obama’s fictitious son, so nevermind) | RedState: "I would like to see cooler heads prevail and for blind justice to be done, and for the usual race-baiters – Jackson, Sharpton, Farrakhan, and… Barack Hussein Obama – to allow justice to move forward without their constantly picking scars into scabs, and then picking scabs down to raw flesh. But that is what they do. That is their mission. Division serves Leftism, and Leftism can be used against White Folk™, so they cannot and will not pass up a prime opportunity to divide provided by the death of a 17 year-old Black boy. In the absence of facts indicating a racist motivation on the part of Zimmerman, they cynically grandstand for their willing accomplices in the media, decrying the “obvious” racist motivation for Zimmerman’s actions and the assumed innocence of Trayvon, and when the cameras are off, they plot their strategy for getting the most divisive bang for their dead-boy buck."

William Happer: Global Warming Models Are Wrong Again - WSJ.com

William Happer: Global Warming Models Are Wrong Again - WSJ.com: "We need high-quality climate science because of the importance of climate to mankind. But we should also remember the description of how science works by the late, great physicist, Richard Feynman:

"In general we look for a new law by the following process. First we guess it. Then we compute the consequences of the guess to see what would be implied if this law that we guessed is right. Then we compare the result of the computation to nature, with experiment or experience; compare it directly with observation, to see if it works. If it disagrees with experiment it is wrong."

The most important component of climate science is careful, long-term observations of climate-related phenomena, from space, from land, and in the oceans. If observations do not support code predictions—like more extreme weather, or rapidly rising global temperatures—Feynman has told us what conclusions to draw about the theory."

The full version, though, unfolds like this:

Zimmerman: “This guy looks like he’s up to no good, or he’s on drugs or something. It’s raining and he’s just walking around, looking about.”
911 operator: “Okay. And this guy, is he white black or Hispanic?”
Zimmerman: “He looks black.”"

Liberal War On Women: MI High School Kills "Respect Women" Campaign

Liberal War On Women: MI High School Kills "Respect Women" Campaign: "March, as many of us know, is Women’s History month, and my school, Grosse Pointe North High School, has not done anything to honor the month. So, I decided to create a series of posters with a message of respecting all women regardless of their beliefs particularly highlighting conservative women. I showcased Vinciane Ngomsi who was spat on by the husband of one of her professors for her conservative activism, Sarah Palin who was challenged by the media as to whether her special needs child was hers, Laura Ingraham who was called a “Sl**”, among others. I pointed out the obvious injustices done against women by the media. Like my many other projects, this one was challenged by the administration at my school.

My posters were not allowed to be hung on the walls yet the words,“Black Power” next to Martin Luther King’s image did end up on the walls and wasn’t challenged. This is not only an injustice to women but to MLK as well."

Obama on Gas Prices: Don't Blame Me, Blame Big Oil: "Therefore, before the vote, Obama stood in the Rose Garden and said: “Today, members of Congress have a simple choice to make. They can stand with the big oil companies, or they can stand with the American people.”
Ironically, however, the real choice faced by Senators was whether they would stand with Barack Obama or whether they would stand with the American people. Fortunately, they stood with the American people. And perhaps that’s a sign of just how much political backlash they fear those tied to rising gas prices will face come November."

Not-So-Smooth Operator - WSJ.com: "If you jumped into a time machine to the day after the election, in November, 2012, and saw a headline saying "Obama Loses," do you imagine that would be followed by widespread sadness, pain and a rending of garments? You do not. Even his own supporters will not be that sad. It's hard to imagine people running around in 2014 saying, "If only Obama were president!" Including Mr. Obama, who is said by all who know him to be deeply competitive, but who doesn't seem to like his job that much. As a former president he'd be quiet, detached, aloof. He'd make speeches and write a memoir laced with a certain high-toned bitterness. It was the Republicans' fault. They didn't want to work with him."

As J. Christian Adams points out at PJMedia.com, the New Black Panthers’ “dead or alive” cash bounty offer for Zimmerman probably crosses several criminal lines:
Let’s start with solicitation to kidnap.  In announcing a reward for the seizure of Zimmerman, the New Black Panthers may have violated Florida Code 787.01.  It makes it a felony to “by threat, confining or abducting, or imprisoning another person against his . . .  will without lawful authority with intent to . .  . terrorize.”

Critical Race Theory Goes to the Polls: "So, if voter ID does not put minority voters at an unfair disadvantage, why does the left persist in its opposition to even the most minimal efforts at ensuring that people who vote in our elections are legally entitled to do so? The most plausible answer comes from left-wing ideology, as we show in our book, Waking The Sleeping Giant.

The recently released video of the young Barack Obama embracing Derrick Bell, a leftist professor at Harvard who was central to the development of Critical Race Theory, triggered limited public interest in this racial version of Marxist social criticism. Few things can be as dry Marxist theory, but the real issue is that these academic theories tend to work their way from the universities out into society at large. That’s just simply wrong. The United States has the same number of barrels of proven oil reserves — 22 billion — today as it did in the 1940s. That’s because new sources of oil kept getting found, more-difficult-to-obtain oil suddenly became more economically viable, new oil-extraction techniques gained favor, and so forth."

From the beginning I've said how much I hate this war, but that doesn't mean I'm going to allow our side to die on the field of battle at the hands of our own lofty ideals. What Maher doesn't appear to understand, though, is that the Left is attacking political speech while those of us on the Right are attacking the Left's hypocrisy.
It's unfortunate for Maher that he's a prime example of the Left's hypocrisy, but in his attempts to defend himself, he's tried to have it both ways and acquitted himself poorly.
If Maher wants to help put an end to this war, I'd like to suggest he do something a little more daring than fly 30,000 feet above it with a lofty New York Times op-ed.
Call your side out by name, Maher. Take a public stand and shame the ones who started this: Media Matters, MSNBC, and the White House.  Oh, and don't forget Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert."

Rove: 'The Road We've Traveled' With Obama - WSJ.com: "The film heralds Mr. Obama as a leader committed to "tough decisions" and as someone who "would not dwell in blame" in the Oval Office.

Where to begin? Perhaps with the last statement: Mr. Obama has spent three years wallowing in blame. His culprits have ranged from his predecessor, to tsunamis and earthquakes, to ATMs, to Fox News, to yours truly [Rove]. If you Google "Obama, Blame, Bush" and "Obama, Inherited," you'll get tens of millions of hits."

But calling someone a "nice guy" is rarely a genuine compliment, and it never is when conjoined by "but." As any man who has ever been rejected by a woman knows, describing someone as "a nice guy, but . . ." is another way of saying he's ineffectual. That is exactly the point Romney is making about Obama."

In the speech, Holder talked of opening the door for more gun control by changing “the hearts and minds of people” concerning guns. And his stated tactic at that time was to enlist the help of educators and ad agencies, to “change the way in which people think about guns, especially young people, and make it something that's not cool, that it's not acceptable, it's not hip to carry a gun anymore, in the way in which [they] changed our attitudes about cigarettes.""

Berkeley Police Visit Reporter Over OWS Story

Berkeley Police Visit Reporter Over OWS Story: "This story highlights so many problems in liberal America. Firstly, Mr. Cukor lost his life because he couldn't defend himself in his own home and had to rely on police that never arrived in time to prevent his murder.
Secondly, we see the Occupy movement tangentially responsible for that murder by monopolizing city resources and preventing police from serving the rest of the community.
Thirdly, we see a police official hired by liberals that has the arrogance to imagine that he can send armed officers to journalist's homes demanding changes to stories written about him. Seems a but tyrannical, doesn’t it?
Of course, as to the second point, one can hardly blame Berkeley police for dedicating so many policemen to any Occupy event. After all, the Occupy Wall Street "movement" has been rife with murders, property damage, and crimes of all sorts.
And liberals say Middle America and the south is dangerous to our collective well being?"

As they say, “Live by political correctness, die by political correctness.” As we teach kids to stand up against bullies, are we actually depriving them of the skills and tools they need to stand up against bullies? It’s a serious question.

Sebelius contradicted herself on another point. She said the government plays an important role in combating bullying in schools — presumably by drawing awareness to the issue. But then she hit the nail on the head when she said parents should step in when a child is bullied. “As a parent you should be empowered to really act on behalf of your child and other children,” she said."

US Conference of Catholic Bishops Fights Obama War on Religion

US Conference of Catholic Bishops Fights Obama War on Religion: "This is not about access to contraception, which is ubiquitous and inexpensive, even when it is not provided by the Church’s hand and with the Church’s funds. This is not about the religious freedom of Catholics only, but also of those who recognize that their cherished beliefs may be next on the block. This is not about the Bishops’ somehow “banning contraception,” when the U.S. Supreme Court took that issue off the table two generations ago. Indeed, this is not about the Church wanting to force anybody to do anything; it is instead about the federal government forcing the Church—consisting of its faithful and all but a few of its institutions—to act against Church teachings. This is not a matter of opposition to universal health care, which has been a concern of the Bishops’ Conference since 1919, virtually at its founding. This is not a fight we want or asked for, but one forced upon us by government on its own timing. Finally, this is not a Republican or Democratic, a conservative or liberal issue; it is an American issue."

Racial Quota Fallout by Thomas Sowell on Creators.com - A Syndicate Of Talent

Racial Quota Fallout by Thomas Sowell on Creators.com - A Syndicate Of Talent: "Derrick Bell's options were to be a nobody, living in the shadow of more accomplished legal scholars — or to go off on some wild tangent of his own, and appeal to a radical racial constituency on campus and beyond.

His writings showed clearly that the latter was the path he chose. His previous writings had been those of a sensible man saying sensible things about civil rights issues that he understood from his years of experience as an attorney. But now he wrote all sorts of incoherent speculations and pronouncements, the main drift of which was that white people were the cause of black people's problems.

Bell even said that he took it as his mission to say things to annoy white people. Perhaps he thought that was better than being insignificant in his academic setting. But it was in fact far worse, because the real damage was to impressionable young blacks who took him seriously, including one who went on to become President of the United States."

Bell Epoque - Innovations - The Chronicle of Higher Education

Bell Epoque - Innovations - The Chronicle of Higher Education: "The re-release of videos showing Barack Obama as a Harvard Law School student in 1991 speaking at a rally in support of professor Derrick Bell has so far occasioned little more than a yawn from academe. The late Professor Bell (1930-2011) is a reasonably well-known figure among those of us who follow racial controversies in higher education, but he is far from a household name. Moreover, there is a triple discount available on this purchase. The precipitating event was (a) long ago; (b) involved intemperate declarations by a student; and (c) requires taking seriously racial bombast by a black professor. These provide a neat package of reasons to put the matter aside as a pseudo-controversy.

That may, however, prove to be a mistaken judgment. Bell could come into sharper focus for the general public in the days ahead, and we don’t know yet how deep or durable his influence on Obama really was. At least at one point, the association worried some Obama supporters. Harvard Law professor Charles Ogletree referring to the footage admits, “I hid this during the 2008 campaign,” but “I don’t care if they find it now.”"

Whistleblower Lawsuit: Planned Parenthood in Texas Filed Millions in Fraudulent Medicaid Claims

Whistleblower Lawsuit: Planned Parenthood in Texas Filed Millions in Fraudulent Medicaid Claims: "The recent series of events involving Planned Parenthood in the state of Texas illustrate an administration steeped in hypocrisy, involved in a codependent relationship with an organization that promotes the killing of the unborn as it also soaks taxpayers. These events demonstrate all too clearly that the “War on Women” is merely a fairy tale cooked up by an administration that is desperate to regain its political clout. Sadly for both low-income women and taxpayers, the Obama administration's actions illustrate that it cares nothing for either group, primarily because they are useless to them politically, except when they can be used as pawns to achieve political gain. The mission of the unholy alliance of the Obama administration and Planned Parenthood is simply to hold fast to political power, regardless of who is in their way."

How Saul Alinsky Taught Barack Obama Everything He Knows About Civic Upheaval

How Saul Alinsky Taught Barack Obama Everything He Knows About Civic Upheaval: "So there’s point one: the assertion that Obama has a grudge against this country. And this leads to point two, and the question of what role Mr. Alinsky’s writings and overthrow tactics have had on our president. (By “overthrow tactics” I mean Alinsky’s methods for not only persuading but also enabling the “have-nots” in our society to overthrow the haves and take away their power.)
In a National Review column, dated May 14, 2009, we see that “Obama’s mentors from his Chicago days studied at a school Alinsky founded, and they taught their students the philosophy and methods of one of the first ‘community organizers.’” That same column cites a photo that was on Obama’s presidential campaign website: a photo that showed “Obama in a classroom teaching students Alinskian methods.” It showed Obama standing in front “of a blackboard on which he’d written ‘Relationships Built on Self Interest,’ and illustrated by a diagram of the flow of money from corporations to the mayor.”"

Government Rent Seeking

If you naively believe that government can fix everything without that nasty free-market rent-seeking, watch this.

Then read this.

Michelle Malkin » What’s the matter with Soledad O’Brien?

Michelle Malkin » What’s the matter with Soledad O’Brien?: "O’Brien also failed to disclose that the liberal prof who denied on her show that critical race theory had aaaaaanything to do with bashing America as a white supremacy-ruled government actually wrote the exact opposite. In one of her own books, Brown asserted that the purpose of CRT was to “highlight the ways in which the law is not neutral and objective, but designed to support White supremacy and the subordination of people of color.” Oops."

Oscar-Winning Producer of 'Schindler's List' Slams Obama, Salutes Breitbart

Oscar-Winning Producer of 'Schindler's List' Slams Obama, Salutes Breitbart: "The event I speak of, of course, was the presidential election of 2008. We put a man in office, a man not really qualified to be a dog catcher, much less the most powerful man in the world. We refused to listen to what he was saying. We missed the first gasp of incredulity when he promised to transform America. Oh, we bought into the cliched slogans of "hope and change." We liked his smile, his ability to read from a teleprompter, his super-friendly demeanor and his charismatic oratorical skills. Yeah, we jumped in with both feet thinking the country would show the world we had found our mojo and racism was gone forever.
Once again, our ears failed us. Our eyes failed us. We failed to hear that horrific sucking sound of our falling into the vortex of calm voices pushing us ever so gently but with assured and deft platitudes, into the hell of our own making."

Holder’s DOJ Implements Critical Race Theory In Texas

Holder’s DOJ Implements Critical Race Theory In Texas: "So why is the Holder DOJ so intent on stopping Texas’ voter ID requirement? Because the Holder DOJ is dominated by a soft variant of the philosophy of critical race theory. The DOJ contention goes something like this: a law must be racist if it has varying impact on different classes of people. It must be designed to uphold the white supremacist hierarchy. Thus, even a law of neutral applicability – meaning a law that applies equally to everyone, like showing your ID to vote – becomes a racist measure. The system itself is corrupted, even though the law is clearly not racist on its face."

Boskin and Cogan: California's Greek Tragedy - WSJ.com

Boskin and Cogan: California's Greek Tragedy - WSJ.com: "Partly due to generous union wages and benefits, inflexible work rules and lobbying for more spending, many state programs and institutions spend too much and achieve too little. For example, annual spending on each California prison inmate is equal to an entire middle-income family's after-tax income. Many of California's K-12 public schools rank poorly on standardized tests. The unfunded pension and retiree health-care liabilities of workers in the state-run Calpers system, which includes teachers and university personnel, totals around $250 billion."

Make no mistake, this is Obama's vision for America.

Climate Science Malpractice – The Promotion Of Multi-Decadal Regional Climate Model Projections As Skillful | Climate Science: Roger Pielke Sr.: "“The multi-decadal regional climate model results presented in this paper have not shown skill at predicting changes in multi-decadal climate statistics. The model results in our study should not be used to quantify the envelope of the risks from climate to societal and environmental resources in the coming decades. Our model sensitivity results are provided only to assist in improving our understanding of climate processes.  ”"

Excellent idea.

Axelrod backs out of Maher appearance « Hot Air

Axelrod backs out of Maher appearance « Hot Air: "Axelrod has been out front on this war on Limbaugh, but the backfire has been … hilarious.  Not only has the attempt to demonize Limbaugh exposed the Left’s own hypocrisy, the effort to hit Limbaugh’s pockets has been a big flop, too.  Now Republicans have made Bill Maher the poster child of the Democratic Party and of Obama’s re-election campaign, thanks to their refusal to return $1 million Maher donated to Obama’s super-PAC — which amounts to half of what the super-PAC has managed to raise:"

Blowing up in their faces.

RoboGate: Democrat Party May Be Behind Illegal 'Rush' Robocalls

RoboGate: Democrat Party May Be Behind Illegal 'Rush' Robocalls: "The calls attempted to link Republican members of Congress to Rush Limbaugh’s recent comments about contraceptive activist Sandra Fluke. They were illegal under the Telecommunications Consumer Protection Act of 1991 because they did not identify a valid return phone number, and did not indicate that they had been paid for by a legitimate, registered organization. According to one source, “With these calls, the *69 option comes back to a dead number....People started getting these calls at 4 a.m., which also breaks Telecom rules.”
The scandal was first exposed on March 9 by the Daily Mail (UK), but a Breitbart.com investigation has gone further, determining that those calls were made to targeted Congressional districts listed on the DCCC’s online ‘Red to Blue’ list, a collection of choice races in which the party intends to concentrate its money and time."

Democrats can't be breaking the law at election time, can they?

Slut-Gate Hypocrisy: Explosive Audio of NBC's Al Sharpton Trashing 'Homos,' 'Chinamen,' and 'Crackers'

Slut-Gate Hypocrisy: Explosive Audio of NBC's Al Sharpton Trashing 'Homos,' 'Chinamen,' and 'Crackers': "True, Sharpton said these things long before he was on MSNBC. But his history was well known, and the lack of outrage from the left when he was elevated to primetime highlights the hypocrisy of their anti-Rush censorship crusade. MSNBC President Phil Griffin knew that Sharpton said this sort of stuff regularly--that, in fact, such bigotry and radical rhetoric was an integral part of the Sharpton persona. He hired him nonetheless. One has to wonder if Brian Williams, Matt Lauer, and Tom Brokaw are proud."

Exodus: California Tax Revenue Plunges by 22%: "Spectrum Locations Consultants recorded 254 California companies moved some or all of their work and jobs out of state in 2011, 26% more than in 2010 and five times as many as in 2009. According SLC President, Joe Vranich: the “top ten reasons companies are leaving California: 1) Poor rankings in surveys 2) More adversarial toward business 3) Uncontrollable public spending 4) Unfriendly business climate 5) Provable savings elsewhere 6) Most expensive business locations 7) Unfriendly legal environment for business 8) Worst regulatory burden 9) Severe tax treatment 10) Unprecedented energy costs."

More 'Game Change' Fallout: 'Staffers talk just to save their asses'

More 'Game Change' Fallout: 'Staffers talk just to save their asses': "Those behind HBO's "Game Change" CHOSE to use the sources they did and CHOSE to ignore the sources listed above who are unafraid to tell their stories under a microscope.

What more proof does anyone need that "Game Change" was nothing more than a two-hour negative campaign commercial produced by Obama's Hollywood pals? At the time the film was announced and produced, Sarah Palin was considered a likely challenger, and so they set up HBO as their own personal super PAC and set out to destroy her.

There simply is no other explanation."

Obama and critical race theory

It's racist to point out the "white supremacy" notions of Obama's favored "Critical Race Theory". So that makes this video interesting:

Requiring ID to drink is racist

This video makes a good point: So "minorities" I guess don't really drink, or there would be an uproar about how ID is required to get a drink, and that would "discriminate against" the minorities in the same way requiring ID to vote "discriminates against" the "minorities".

The Big Hoax - Thomas Sowell - Townhall Conservative Columnists - Page 1

The Big Hoax - Thomas Sowell - Townhall Conservative Columnists - Page 1: "If black males get punished more often than Asian American females, does that mean that it is somebody else's fault? That it is impossible that black males are behaving differently from Asian American females? Nobody in his right mind believes that. But that is the unspoken premise, without which the punishment statistics prove nothing about "equity."

What is the purpose or effect of this whole exercise by the Department of Education and the Department of Justice? To help black students or to secure the black vote in an election year by seeming to be coming to the rescue of blacks from white oppression?"

The voice of reason.
