Now that the debates are over, the Obama campaign belatedly realizes just how misguided that strategy turned out to be.  Now they want to rush an agenda out in order to make a positive claim for the office, because Romney turned out to be more presidential than Obama in the debates.  People will rightly ask why Obama waited until 14 days out from the election to bother to make a positive case for a second term — and come to the proper conclusion that Obama’s arrogance led him to believe he’d never have to make that case to voters at all.  He figured he was owed a second term."

EXCLUSIVE: Obama campaign fails to screen for foreign Web donations - NYPOST.com

EXCLUSIVE: Obama campaign fails to screen for foreign Web donations - NYPOST.com: "The Obama campaign says it “screens all credit-card contributions that originate from a foreign IP address” and requests proof of citizenship if questions arise.

But not only did Walker’s Obama donations go through, but he said he began receiving two to three e-mail solicitations a day to give more. The e-mails asked for $188 or more.

If Walker gave $188, his total contribution to Obama would be $198 — less than the $200 threshold at which campaigns have to identify the donor to the FEC.

“I have not had any e-mails asking for proof of identity,” Walker said.

The GAI report found the Obama campaign Web sites do not ask donors to provide their three-digit card-verification value, or CVV, numbers to ensure they are the legitimate holders of the card. Romney’s campaign asks for such information, which is considered a standard security measure."

The Complete List of Obama's Taxpayer-Backed Green Energy Failures

The Complete List of Obama's Taxpayer-Backed Green Energy Failures: "So far, 36 companies that were offered federal support from taxpayers are faltering — either having gone bankrupt or laying off workers or heading for bankruptcy. This list includes only those companies that received federal money from the Obama Administration’s Department of Energy and other agencies. The amount of money indicated does not reflect how much was actually received or spent but how much was offered. The amount also does not include other state, local, and federal tax credits and subsidies, which push the amount of money these companies have received from taxpayers even higher."

Deputy secretary insists on security detail so he can fly business class | Washington Free Beacon: "Special agents tasked with protecting the Department of Energy (DOE) have blown the whistle on what they describe as a dangerous culture of “fraud, waste, and abuse” that includes drinking on the job, mismanagement of weapons, falsification of security reports, and “wasteful spending” that reaches all the way to the deputy secretary of energy."

So what, exactly, is it that they are protecting, and from what are they protecting it?

Articles: What Happens When a Ponytailed Defense Attorney Gets Mugged?: "If you are a victim from the wrong ethnicity (white), nationality (American), or sexual orientation (heterosexual), you are no longer equal in the eyes of the law.  Ideally, there would be no hate crime laws, but so long as they exist, we lose moral ground and legal rights every time they are applied inequitably.
"Dyke" uttered by a rapist is grounds for enhanced bias crime sentencing; "b***h" thrown at a heterosexual rape victim is not.  A girl walking down the street engaging in a private, if crude, conversation can be called out by the media for being a hate criminal because someone else punched Ron Kuby, but killing 3,000 Americans because they are American doesn't count as hatred.
For if the 3,000 were "counted," then virtually all the victims of hate-crime murders over the past hundred years would be victims of anti-American hatred, and virtually all the worst hate criminals would be Muslims.
Hate crime laws certainly weren't drafted to achieve that outcome."

Articles: Big Bird, Liberalism, and Perversion: "Notice the rage erupting from those who think of themselves as pure and good.  An important aspect shared by liberalism's true believers is their self-flattering conviction that they are good, smart, better in every way than non-liberals.  Infantile rage results when infantile fantasies go awry.
Almost any Paul Krugman or Maureen Dowd column is illustrative of the grandiose self-regard and rage of frustrated infants in grown-up bodies.  Notice the glee expressed when Joe Biden, the "elder statesman," behaved like a six-year-old.  They loved it!  Tantrums are a way helpless children sometimes force concessions from adults.  It is the effort by the powerless to coerce the powerful.  Bullies who compulsively smile and address the objects of their bullying as "my friend" are actually cowards."

Former Obama advisor: Our foreign policy is a mess — especially in the Middle East « Hot Air

Former Obama advisor: Our foreign policy is a mess — especially in the Middle East « Hot Air: "Well, what did voters honestly expect when they elected a Chicago machine politician with no executive experience?  I’m actually serious about that question.  This was one of the big problems with giving a man his first executive experience as President of the United States.  This is why it’s better to elect governors, military commanders, or people with extensive private-sector executive experience; they have already lived through the lessons of poor hiring decisions and are a lot smarter about it by the time they’re running the most powerful country in the world.  This is just another outcome of having someone in far over his head, and Americans have no one but themselves to blame for it.

Of course, they can correct that failure in about 18 days.  And if Mitt Romney isn’t committing Brooks’ damning indictment to memory for Monday’s debate in order to close the deal on the election, I’ll eat my hat."

Is Biden Fit to be President? | The Blog on Obama: White House Dossier: "That the vice president of the United States could put together a performance that was just one step short of Nikita Khrushchev pounding his shoe on a desk at the United Nations should be deeply disturbing to average Americans.

Though calculated, Biden’s outlandish behavior and his uncanny ability to pull it off belongs nowhere near the West Wing of the White House. Unless Biden’s debate prep partner was Al Pacino and the practice sessions were rehearsed at the Strasberg school for method acting in New York City, the behavior you saw last night has to be part of who Biden is: A crude, angry bully who may be a borderline lunatic.

Americans need to ask themselves not who won the debate, but whether they want such a man in charge of an office whose occupant steers the the future of the human race and, quite possibly, its fate."

Articles: Debate Shows Obama's an 'African' Stuck in the '70s

Articles: Debate Shows Obama's an 'African' Stuck in the '70s: "Get this: the first "black" president of the United States, the man who worked as a South Side community organizer in Chicago, really believes that "folks" in the ghetto are still running around in afros, dashikis, and platform shoes, ducking behind Buick Electra 225s while taking potshots at each other with zip guns and .22s, once commonly referred to as "Saturday Night Specials."  Seriously?"

"Nothing in Obama's background speaks of the American experience. It's not difficult to understand why. Obama is the son of a white woman with jungle fever and a commie Kenyan. He was raised in circumstances that almost all Americans -- let alone blacks -- would find foreign. Obama is best described as an "African in America." (And no, I'm not a birther, despite the earlier "Nairobi" joke.) The difference between Obama's actual identity and an actual "black" person's is no small distinction. It explains how he could hold such an outdated view of the violence plaguing black communities across the nation. It explains why you never see him campaigning in black communities or dropping by for photo ops. (Well, that and because he knows that 95 percent of "those people" are going to vote for him anyway.)"

Lena Dunham book deal: People value potential over achievement in books, sports, politics. - Slate Magazine: "The way we view uncertainty and accomplishment explains many judgments we make. In the case of the presidential election, most people are making an uneven comparison, sizing up Obama’s first term—what he has or hasn’t done over the past four years—with Romney’s potential over the next four years. Because we don’t know what a Romney administration would look like, we fill in the unknowns with what little information we have, coloring it in with our current reaction to his proposed policies. Being partial to potential also explains why Obama’s supporters were more jazzed in 2008, when they freely imagined that he really could solve the country’s problems overnight. Today, we’re forced to respond to his actual accomplishments, none of which hold a candle to our raging, hopeful imaginations."

Another Jobs Report Prompts Head Scratching - US Business News - CNBC

Another Jobs Report Prompts Head Scratching - US Business News - CNBC: "In other words, the drop of 30,000 last week had more to do with the lack of expected re-filings at the start of the fourth quarter than with any particular improvement in labor market conditions.

That also means that the decline which usually follows the spike won’t be as pronounced this time around, so the headline tally of jobless claims is likely to rebound next week.

All told, these two weeks’ worth of jobless claims will end up being more noise than signal. That may frustrate those who follow the series closely for clues into the health of the U.S. labor market. Coupled with last week’s payrolls report, it is also likely to fuel perception that labor market figures in general can’t be trusted.

The Labor Department appears to have had little choice in this matter, however; it couldn’t estimate what the one large state would or should have reported. Still, it may have been able to avoid more confusion had it more clearly articulated that in its weekly press release.

And now, there is one state’s labor department with plenty of explaining to do."

And more...

Obama's fundraising off Romney's "radical" associations is an example of either chutzpah he will get away with or hubris that will come back to haunt him by inviting scrutiny of Obama's closeness with terrorists who appear with him in the suppressed Los Angeles Times video of a 2003 anti-Israel gathering -- former PLO operative Rashid Khalidi (who dedicated a book to Palestinian murderer Yasser Arafat), Bill Ayers (who dedicated a book to Palestinian murderer Sirhan Sirhan), and Bernardine Dohrn. The guest list also included Ali Abunimah, a close Obama ally who founded the Electronic Intifada website in 2001 (surely Obama realized that the word "intifada" is synonymous with suicide bombings) and the Sanabel debka troupe. Columnist Debbie Schlussel reported that she witnessed a performance of this Palestinian children's dance group that included "simulating beheadings and stomping on American, Israeli, and British flags." (Did they let the children use real swords when they acted out the beheadings? Maybe we'll find out when this comes up in the debates.)

Still more...

Obama, during a sit-down with Medvedev in Seoul, urged Moscow to give him "space" until after November. The conversation was relayed by a TV pool producer who listened to the recording from a Russian journalist. "This is my last election. After my election, I have more flexibility," Obama told Medvedev. Obama appeared to be asking Medvedev to relay this point to Vladimir Putin, who recently won election to return to the Russian presidency. "On all these issues, but particularly missile defense ... this can be solved but it's important for him to give me space," Obama said.

And this...

The PA official, speaking on condition his name be withheld, said that Obama promised to renew stalled Israeli-Palestinian negotiations on the basis of the 1967 borders, meaning an Israeli withdrawal from eastern sections of Jerusalem as well as from Judea and Samaria, also referred to as the West Bank. “We were asked by the (U.S.) administration not to make special demands or scandals during the elections,” said the official.

But the truth is one thing that never wears out. The Pythagorean Theorem is 2,000 years old, but it can still tell you the distance from home plate to second base (127 ft.) without measuring it. And what happened five years ago can tell a lot about Barack Obama's character -- or lack of character.

Obama's true believers may not want to know the truth. But there are millions of other people who have simply projected their own desires for a post-racial America onto Barack Obama. These are the ones who need to be confronted with the truth, before they repeat the mistake they made when they voted four years ago."

Black Community in Chicago Sees Obama Losing Election and Prepping Move to Hawaii: "“Listen bud, there’s no second term nothing and they know as much,” a Think Squader told me between bites of his bodacious sandwich. “All this is for show.  Axelrod has already moved on but no one knows what to do and they’re kind of just limping around without a plan hoping those Romney people mess up or the media drags them across the finish line.  But ain’t nobody in that top tier who thinks he’s going to win. It’s just not happening because they can’t fool people a second time”."

Intelligence officials angered by Obama administration cover up of intelligence on Iranian, al Qaeda surge in Egypt and Libya | Washington Free Beacon

Intelligence officials angered by Obama administration cover up of intelligence on Iranian, al Qaeda surge in Egypt and Libya | Washington Free Beacon: "Intelligence held back from senior officials and the public includes numerous classified reports revealing clear Iranian support for jihadists throughout the tumultuous North Africa and Middle East region, as well as notably widespread al Qaeda penetration into Egypt and Libya in the months before the deadly Sept. 11 terrorist attack on the U.S. consulate in Benghazi.

“The Iranian strategy is two-fold: upping the ante for the Obama administration’s economic sanctions against Iran and perceived cyber operations against Iran’s nuclear weapons program by conducting terror attacks on soft U.S. targets and cyber attacks against U.S. financial interests,” said one official, speaking confidentially.

The Iranian effort also seeks to take the international community’s spotlight off Iran’s support for its Syrian ally."

A Fantasy Election, an Imaginary Man by Andrew Klavan - City Journal

A Fantasy Election, an Imaginary Man by Andrew Klavan - City Journal: "And it is revealed in Obama’s blankness, his make-believe greatness, and the suppression, ridicule, and dismissal of any evidence that he is not the man this powerful media faction once wanted so badly for him to be. No other modern president could have associated so intimately with lowlifes like Wright and Ayers and the now-imprisoned Tony Rezko and not had those associations exposed in every detail. No other president could have made the radical remarks he’s made—about wealth redistribution, religion, and the federal government’s alleged ill-treatment of blacks—and not had them headlined all over for weeks. No other could have presided over such a crippled economy and such universal failures at war and in foreign policy and escaped almost without mainstream blame."

EPA sued in federal court over illegal human testing | EPA Human Testing: "“EPA has broken every law and violated every standard established since World War II and the Tuskegee syphilis experiments for the protection of human subjects in scientific experiments,” said Milloy. “That EPA administrator Lisa Jackson permitted this heinous experimentation to occur under her watch shocks the conscience,” Milloy added."

Career intel officers: Obama’s not telling you how far Al Qaeda has penetrated into Libya and Egypt « Hot Air

Career intel officers: Obama’s not telling you how far Al Qaeda has penetrated into Libya and Egypt « Hot Air: "I’d love to hear the Foreign Policy President explain why his State Department didn’t think to ramp up protection for Chris Stevens in Al Qaeda’s new backyard, but I think we all know what his “public statement” about the situation is going to be. No explanations forthcoming.

Man Made Global Warming Disproved « JoNova: Science, carbon, climate and tax

Man Made Global Warming Disproved « JoNova: Science, carbon, climate and tax: "It takes only one experiment to disprove a theory. The climate models are predicting a global disaster, but the empirical evidence disagrees. The theory of catastrophic man-made global warming has been tested from many independent angles.

The heat is missing from oceans; it’s missing from the upper troposphere. The clouds are not behaving as predicted. The models can’t predict the short term, the regional, or the long term. They don’t predict the past. How could they predict the future?

The models didn’t correctly predict changes in outgoing radiation, or the humidity and temperature trends of the upper troposphere.  The single most important fact, dominating everything else, is that the ocean heat content has barely increased since 2003 (and quite possibly decreased) counter to the simulations. In a best case scenario, any increase reported is not enough. Models can’t predict local and regional patterns or seasonal effects, yet modelers add up all the erroneous micro-estimates and claim to produce an accurate macro global forecast. Most of the warming happened in a step change in 1977, yet CO2 has been rising annually."

Articles: Is Barack Obama a Compulsive Liar?

Articles: Is Barack Obama a Compulsive Liar?: "There is now a near universal mistrust of Obama among world leaders as well as many members of Congress who candidly admit they cannot deal with Barack Obama, as he has proven himself to be untrustworthy and unbelievable -- particularly as he refuses to accept any responsibility for the outcome of his actions and policies.  The diminished status of the United States around the globe and the greatly eroded standard of living for the vast majority of Americans are testament to these character flaws."

Articles: The Swedish Model: Government Austerity

Articles: The Swedish Model: Government Austerity: "Keynesians tell us that cutting government spending will slow economic growth.  The exact opposite happened with Sweden.  Once it started cutting spending, its economy started growing: 4% in 1994 and 3.9% in 1995.  In the 18 years since it started cutting, Sweden's economy grew at twice its previous rate, even faster than the U.S.'s.
And Sweden did not cut its debt and deficits by raising revenue levels.  Sweden's government took 62% of its GDP at the high point (1987-91).  By 2001, government revenue was under 54%, and in 2011, it was under 50%.
Sweden cut spending and taxes.  And its tax system is as flat as a tax system can be.
Instead of imitating Sweden's example of austerity, Obama and the Democrats are championing the exact opposite in every measure.  More spending, more taxes, more subsidies, a more progressive tax system, more Krugmanomics.  There's a word for that: delusional."

Articles: Why Obama Sticks in my Craw

Articles: Why Obama Sticks in my Craw: "We seem to have been told one thing, and time has proven it untrue.  Is this not emblematic of this entire Obama administration and the past four years?
And one more final untruth.  Bill Daley suddenly leaves his chief of staff position after a short stint and apparently a shocking "peek" behind the curtain.  But not to worry; Daley will chair Obama's campaign.  But as time made us forget the NYC Air Force One story, we seem to not notice that Bill Daley is not Obama's campaign manager.  Perhaps the exit from chief of staff was not as it was pretended to be.  Perhaps the NYC flyby was indeed "megalomaniacal recreation."  Maybe that phrase best describes the past four years.  Megalomaniacal recreation.

Weasel Zippers | Scouring the bowels of the internet | Weasel Zippers: "I agree with former GE CEO Jack Welch, Chicago style politics is at work here. Somehow by manipulation of data we are all of a sudden below 8 percent unemployment, a month from the Presidential election. This is Orwellian to say the least and representative of Saul Alinsky tactics from the book “Rules for Radicals”- a must read for all who want to know how the left strategize . Trust the Obama administration? Sure, and the spontaneous reaction to a video caused the death of our Ambassador……and pigs fly."
